-myself and I regret that want of time has compelled me to
leave for another year the tables for the first two de-
-cades of the Colony's existence. I propose when this His-
-torical and Statistical Abstract is completed to address
you with regard to its separate publication for sale to
the public and to the question of the preparation of
similar abstracts for other Colonies.

The list of Parliamentary Papers
on page 11 of the new List is taken from page 398 of the
Colonial Office List for 1905. In future issues it will be
followed by an index of Sessional Papers that have from
time to time been printed for laying on the Table of the
Legislative Council; for want of such an index full ad-
-vantage is not at present derived from the useful informa-
-tion contained in many of these papers. A bibliography of
the Colony will also be added.

To the miscellaneous lists in
Part II those of Honours conferred on Members of the Civil
Service (now living) in Hongkong (page 43), of Authorized
Architects (page 47), and of Private Medical Practitioners
(page 48) have been added. The last two are specially
useful to Officers in the Public Works, Medical and
Sanitary Departments.
